Nicholas D’Amato's first solo album is a natural extension from backing such jazz and blues luminaries as Lizz Wright and Popa Chubby. Joined by ballistic drummer John O’ Reilly Jr. and world-renowned guitarist Wayne Krantz, D'Amato's Royal Society takes seriously its London namesake and motto, "take no one's word", which mandated free experimentation at all costs. It is shown here with challenging new music without the burdens of style and category.
